Head lice is a big problem and every parent’s nightmare. These small insects are very contagious and the kids usually get them in school. They are not always dangerous, but they can be very itchy.
There are numerous shampoos and other products on the market that can help you with this problem, but most of them are very expensive or ineffective. You will spend numerous hours in trying to remove lice, and in the end, the result will be disappointing.
This home remedy will help you get rid of the head lice in a very effective, yet cheap way.
You will need:
- Listerine mouthwash (You can use another brand)
- Lice comb
- White vinegar
- A couple of towels
- Shower cap or plastic bags
Directions:
Wash your hair (or child’s hair) with mouthwash until it’s completely wet. Wrap it in a plastic bag (hair) or cover with showering cap. Let it stay for one hour. Then, remove the plastic bag and wash the hair with vinegar, covering it with a bag or showing cap again. Remove (after an hour) showering cap and wash it with regular shampoo. Then, comb the hair with a lice comb.
Lice don’t like the smell of Listerine and it will keep them away, while the vinegar will help you remove lice eggs from the hair. Here are just a few advantages of this product over commercial products:
