Toothache can be one of the most irritating types of ache that can happen to someone. The best thing to do in this case is pay a visit to the dentist, but if it is at night, or during the weekend you can try these homemade remedies or people’s remedies, to avoid a trip to the Emergency Room.
As you probably know, garlic is natural antibiotic. There are a few ways to consume it to get a bit of pain relief. You can chew a garlic clove, you can apply it on the affected area, placing it between the tooth and the gum. You can add salt to this remedy, as well.
- Salty Water
You can mix 2 tablespoons of sea salt with one cup water and stir until the salt is dissolute. Gargle it in the mouth and this will get you short relief.
- Apple Cider Vinegar
ACV is famous for its anti-inflammatory properties, and that is how it found its place on the list. Apply a small amount of ACV on a cotton ball and keep the cotton ball on the affected area for a few minutes. You will see that you’ll get relief.
- Chamomile Tea
Prepare chamomile tea (the best option is organic chamomile tea). Let it chill, gargle for a few times afterwards and rinse.
- Baking Soda
Baking soda also has anti-inflammatory properties and that is why it can help with teeth or gums inflammation. Mix a tablespoon of baking soda with half a cup water. Stir until the soda is completely dissolved and rinse the area with it. You will notice the situation getting better.
If you have fresh peppermint leaves you can chew them, or apply them on the affected area. Understandably, the organic peppermint leaves are the best choice, but if you don’t have fresh leaves you can make peppermint tea and use it the same way as chamomile tea.
Chew some fresh parsley and you will feel relief immediately.
- Tea Tree Oil
Add 3-4 drops of this in a glass of warm water and rinse your mouth with the mixture.
- Ice Pack
If there is an inflammatory process going on, and you have swollen area, use ice to keep on it. This will help with pain relief, but also with the problem of swelling.
- Avoid Bending Down
This action affects you blood pressure and can increase the pain. Try to keep the head up high to avoid pain worsening.
