Nowadays, we live very differently than our great grandparents – even grandparents – which is why we suffer from so many health issues. Sure, our technology enables us to communicate more easily and quickly, our transportation is infinitely better and most of us have better medical care, but we also eat processed foods, too many sweets, junk food, we’re exposed to pollution and environmental toxins, not to mention stressful jobs.
Luckily, there are certain things – cheap, effective, and natural things – that we can do and consume in order to improve our wellbeing. Thyme is one example of this: one of the most powerful herbs with many health benefits, thyme supports our immune, digestive, respiratory, and nervous system, fights inflammation, lowers bad cholesterol, reduces blood pressure and improves mood.
Regular use of thyme can boost your overall health, support healthy function of thyroids, improve your energy levels and even relieve symptoms of vertigo.
Thyme Tea
To make a healthy, tasty cup of thyme tea, you’ll need:
- 1 cup water
- A handful of thyme (it can be dried or fresh)
- A bit of honey
Preparation:
Place thyme in a bowl; if using fresh thyme, wash it gently and properly beforehand. Boil the water, pour it over the herb and steep for about 10 to 15 minutes. Strain, pour the tea into a cup and add a teaspoon of honey.
For best results, thyme tea should be consumed once a day, every day.
