In people’s medicine, celery is most commonly used for cleansing the body (especially the blood), strengthening the nerves and as a medicine for bladder issues, because it initiates urine production. Celery also cleans the liver, it decreases the blood sugar and pressure.
It contains very little calories which makes it useful during dieting. It is most useful if you consume it raw, and is not recommended for people with kidney issues and pregnant women,
Celery against many diseases

- Allergies
Get 2 teaspoons of chopped celery root and cover it with a glass of cold water. Leave it for two hours. Drink 1/3 of a cup per day, 15 to 20 minutes before a meal.
- Inflammatory skin diseases
Cover half a cup of celery with vinegar, adding half a teaspoon of salt. Apply on inflamed and painful areas.
- Gastritis
Get 1.41 oz. of celery root and pour a liter of boiling water over it, cover it and leave it for 8 hours. Consume 2 spoons three times a day, 15 minutes before a meal.
- Anxiety, insomnia
Drink fresh celery juice, 1-2 teaspoons 3 times a day, 20 minutes before a meal.
- Osteoporosis, back pain, arthritis
Wash a kilogram of celery with its leaves and grind it in a meat grinder. Do the same with 3 lemons with their bark. Mix it all and store in a dark place for seven days. Strain it, add 10,5 oz. of honey and keep it refrigerated. Consume one spoon before a meal. You will forget the pain after two doses.
- Cystitis, pyelonephritis
Get a teaspoon of celery seeds and pour a cup of water over it, adding honey as you prefer. Stir and drink 2 spoons, three times a day, half an hour before you eat.
- Celery tea against rheumatism
Get a half liter of water, boil it, and add 0,7 oz. of celery leaves, cover it and let it cook for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool. Strain it and drink during the day. For rheumatism treatment it is recommended you drink 4 cups of tea a day for 4-6 weeks.
- Regular consumption of celery can prevent development of kidney and gallbladder stones
As you can see from the listed above, you need to use celery as much as possible in everyday food because it is beneficial for the: kidneys, stomach, intestines, muscles, blood vessels and the immune system. The celery understandably cannot be the basic remedy for treatment of diseases, but it can be pretty useful in prevention of diseases and as an additive in the regular therapy.
