This recipe contains essential ingredients that for centuries helped people to cope with painful osteoporosis. About 75 million people suffer from osteoporosis in Europe, USA, and Japan. The condition is characterized by loss of bone mass, which leads to an increased risk of fractures.
In women, the risk is four times greater. We present this homemade recipe, known in Ancient Sparta, which contains ingredients that will positively influence bone density and help in the fight against osteoporosis. The recipe contains linseed, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds, wheat, grapes, and honey. Here’s why these compounds are useful for the bones:
Omega-3 fatty acids contained in flaxseed are the key to protecting bone mineralization, which occurs in diabetes and menopause.
Sesame is full of calcium, magnesium, copper, vitamin B1, zinc and dietary fiber. One tablespoon of this seed contains 88 mg of calcium, and only a quarter cup of natural sesame provides more calcium than a glass of whole milk.
Plus, sesame has an alkaline character. The seeds are rich in zinc and other minerals that have a positive effect on bone density.
It works synergistically with calcium, but often ignored, and recent studies have shown that about 50% of women receive less than 70 percent of the recommended daily intake of magnesium, which is a key factor for osteoporosis.
This mineral plays a role in the formation of hydrochloric acid necessary for proper digestion and regulates the function of the parathyroid gland. Pumpkin seeds also contain copper, zinc and vitamin K.
Only one quarter cup of sunflower seeds provides over 90% of the required daily dose of vitamin E. It neutralizes free radicals and has anti-inflammatory effects.
Sunflower seeds are rich in magnesium, which is needed for healthy bones and helps reduce blood pressure, reduces muscle tension, migraine headaches, general aches, and fatigue.
Raisins are considered as one of the most useful fruits in a dehydrated state. Adding the grape to your diet gives amazing results given in various bone diseases and osteoporosis. They contain magnesium, calcium, iron, potassium, phosphorus, zinc, folic acid, niacin, vitamin C, vitamin B-6 and K.
Honey contains a wide range of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants. It has niacin, riboflavin and pantothenic acid, calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc, which help to strengthen our bones.
Honey contains a variety of flavonoids and phenolic acids that purifies the body from free radicals.
