The skin is the largest organ in the body and our first defense against the outside world. However, as we age, we put our skin through more pollution, more UV radiation, more toxic chemicals…more damage.
For this reason, it’s very common to develop age spots, get more moles, skin tags and warts. And although completely natural, these things tend to undermine our self-confidence and make us insecure about our own bodies. But there’s no reason for that, as there are many completely natural remedies that can help.
Removing Skin Tags
Skin tags usually form around the neck, underarms, upper chest and eyelids. The cause? Friction – skin rubbing against skin, clothes rubbing against skin, etc.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Soak a cotton ball with ACV and dab the skin tag(s) with it a few times per day. You can also leave it on for a few hours or overnight. This treatment should be used for a few days in a row.
Tea Tree Oil
Simply soak a cotton ball with water and then add 2-3 drops of tea tree oil. Dab the skin tags with the cotton ball, cover with a bandage and let it sit for a few hours. This should be repeated for a few weeks.
Removing Warts
Warts are caused by HPV and are very common. Some natural remedies work really well at removing them – usually, ACV will do the trick. Simply use it like you would for removing a wart. Another option is:
Garlic
Use fresh garlic: crush the garlic and use its juice as a wart treatment by rubbing it on and putting a bandage over it. You should leave this overnight and repeat for at least one week to see the results.
Removing Moles
Most moles aren’t harmful, they are simply groups of skin pigmentation (melanocytes). However, before trying to remove them, you should always have a doctor examine your moles, as some can be a sign of skin cancer. Generally, harmless, normal moles are round and symmetric and are one color.
Castor Oil and Baking Soda
Mix castor oil and baking soda until you get a thick paste. Put the paste on the mole (s), cover with a bandage and leave overnight. In the morning, rinse the skin gently and repeat the process every other night for a few weeks.
Removing Age Spots
Age spots are caused by excessive UV radiation (sun exposure) or hormonal imbalances. You can treat them quite successfully with Vitamin C serums, but lemons will usually do the trick as well.
Lemon
Squeeze one fresh lemon and use the juice to rub your age spots/dark spots a few times a day. You can also soak a cotton ball with the juice, put it over your spots, cover with a bandage and leave it on for a few minutes. The treatment should be used until you see your age spots start to fade.
Note: When using lemon juice on your face, make sure your skin is protected against sun rays by using sunscreen.
