The marketing agencies are constantly using psychological tricks that make us buy their products, however, a new research showed that they will start to use our senses to sell their products.
According to the research published in Journal of Consumer Research, the distal sensory experiences like the sight, smell and sound lead the people to want to buy things in not so near future, while the most proximal sensual experiences, like touch and taste, lead to people wanting to buy products as soon as possible.
Sight and sound are also efficient in sale of objects that people would like to buy for acquaintances and other people that are not close to them. But taste and touch make consumers buy products for people close to them, like friends and family members.
The research is useful for marketing agencies in understanding how these senses influence different aspects of customers habits and can help to advertise the products more efficiently.
