Guess what? No need for the flu shot since there is a different, natural and homemade remedy! Almost no virus is immune to a soup made from 50 garlic cloves, lemon and thyme. Norovious viruses, fly and colds are not exceptions!
Alicin is a chemical ingredient found in garlic that combats viruses. Washington State University recently did a research that proves garlic to be much more effective than 2 broadly used antibiotics.
Alicin is created from allin when garlic is crushed. It has been found that garlic lowers blood pressure and cholesterol as well while at the same time preventing blood clots. Reducing the risk of the appearance of atherosclerosis is a characteristic of it too. Furthermore, this vegetable may be of a help in prevention of onset cancers.
A British doctor mentioned that this chemical has been popular for its anti bacterial and anti fungal properties. Due to this many people have been introducing this so-called remedy to their diets.
However, the way it works has not been actually proven.
There is two sides in this story between scientists as well. The Cochrane Database discovered that increase of consumed garlic in winter can decrease cold symptoms 5.5 to 4.5 days.
However, there is still a lack of authoritative information and research.
This is something pharmaceutical companies are not interested in, understandably. Garlic would decrease their profits.
The Egyptians gave garlic to the pyramids builders to keep them in good health and shape. The Romans gave it to the sailors, the ancient Greeks used garlic for almost every condition.
Garlic is a booster of the antioxidants in our body. Since the middle ages garlic has been used for many purposes like for example treating wounds. Moreover, UCA pharmacological scientists have found that allicin is an infection killer, that improves our blood flow and immunity strength.
Favorite recipe: Peeling garlic cloves and roast it and after an hour or so top it with lemon juice. It is vividly yummy.

Although garlic is still not scientifically proven to be a miracle medicine, it is still good to have it in your home at all times, or even better to raise it in your garden.
