8 Signs That You Are Not Drinking Enough Water

We all know that we won’t be here without water. We need it, and the planet needs it. If you want to be healthy and fit, the first thing you need to do is to drink enough water.

8 Signs That You Are Not Drinking Enough Water

Most of us, though, forget to drink water on a regular basis, leaving our body dehydrated. Since we need water to function normally (juice, tea, coffee and other drinks don’t count). The body has its own ways to tell us something is not right, so you need to listen to it. Here are eight signs that will show you your body needs water:

Headaches

If you have frequent headaches that get worse as you move, maybe you don’t drink enough water. If you have trouble with climbing up and down the stairs, bending over and other things that require moving and if your headaches happen whenever you drink less water, then you know what to do. Just drink one glass of water when a headache starts and sip it slowly.

Urine Color

When you don’t drink enough water color of your urine will become darker. With severe dehydration it can even get to be dark brown. Don’t drink a couple of glasses of water at once, but rather drink it slowly so your body can distribute it to the organs.

Dizziness

If you feel dizzy from time to time, it is probably because your body had lost some amounts of fluids (sweating for example). You just need to drink a glass of water whenever you feel dizzy and it will go away.

Dry Skin

Nice and healthy skin require enough of water, and if you are not drinking a lot of water you will end up with dry skin. Even if you use creams and lotions, it can still look dry. The best way to be healthy, as well as your skin, is to drink a glass of water every hour. Your skin will be well-toned and you will feel hydrated.

Dry Mouth

One more sign that will show you how hydrated you are is the dryness of your mouth. The lack of saliva shows that you need to drink more water. Keep a bottle of water around and you will avoid damage in your oral cavity or even the throat.

Hunger

You just ate a meal and you still feel hungry? If you feel hungry, try drinking a glass of water first, cause body sometimes confuses hunger and dehydration. You can drink a glass of water before every meal. That will give you a feeling of satiety, and your body will be well hydrated.

Urination

People under the normal conditions urinate about 6-7 times per day. That number can be slightly different since not all of us drink the same amount of water. But, if you urinate 2-3 times per day, that means you need more water. If you don’t intake the proper amount of water, your kidneys can suffer and you will feel awful. So, drink a glass on every hour or so.

Chronic Dehydration

There are some clear symptoms of chronic dehydration. They often can be overlooked, but if you know you are not drinking enough water, keep them in mind.

The most common symptoms:

  • Urinary tract infections
  • Increased cholesterol levels
  • Premature aging
  • Constipation/ Heartburn
  • Confusion / Anxiety

So drink a lot of water, especially on hot days, and you will be good to go.
