Just wondering if you girls had any cool tips that you’d like to share. Here are some of our personal favorite
Expensive Salon Treatment at Your Home
The expensive “hot extra nutrient rich conditioning oil treatments” that are offered at the salon can be done at home. Pour a cupped palm-sized dollop of any conditioner (some of the really cheap shampoos and conditioners , contain alcohol and other ingredients which can really dry out hair ) and rub it into your clean, wet hair, focusing on the ends. Then wrap up your hair in a towel and let it set for twenty minutes. The natural body heat will build up in the towel and open the hair shaft, allowing the conditioner to get all up in your business. Afterwards, hop back in the shower and rinse.
Pedicure-Ready Toenails In 10 Minutes
Cover your feet in lotion past the point where you can rub it in, put them in plastic grocery bags, then tie the bags up tightly around your ankles. Again with the natural body heat, and after ten minutes you’ll have soft, pedicure-ready toenails, cuticles, and callouses. You don’t need a big pack of tools, just a nail-clipper, popsicle stick for pushing back cuticles, and a cheap ole pumice stone.
Piercing Cleaner
Salt water should be all you need to clean a piercing that is healing well. Don’t use Peroxide, all it does is strip away the bad bacteria AND the good bacteria and you end up with an over-cleaned, dry piercing that will take longer to heal.
Boosted Hair Conditioner
Another awesome hair treatment is to combine your usual amount of hair conditioner + 1/4 portion aloe vera gel + 1/4 portion honey into a bowl. You can microwave it for a few seconds so it gets runny and warm, then smooth it onto your wet hair in the shower. Cover with a shower cap, leave on for as long as you want — around 45 minutes while studying, for example — then wash the rest out. It is divine.
Hair Conditioner For Soft Shaving
If you run out of shaving cream: instead of using soap in its place, use hair conditioner. It makes your legs super soft and isn’t as irritating as soap!
Moisturizing Body Scrub
- 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons of honey.
Add sugar, olive oil, and honey into a container (in that order so that the honey slides easily off the spoon). Mix well. Use on the face and body.
Note: Don’t refrigerate. Also, the sugar has a habit of settling to the bottom of the container, just mix it up before each use.
Aspirin Mask
Take a tablet of UNCOATED aspirin. Place the tablet on a plate, and add a few drops of water to create a fairly thick, grainy paste. Not too much, it shouldn’t be watery. Just enough water to dissolve the aspirin. Smooth all over the face and wash off ten minutes later. Word of caution though, test it out on a small patch of skin, like your inner wrist, for possible reactions. It’s basically a salicylic acid mask, reduces inflammation. If you have bad acne or have otherwise irritated your skin, it’s perfect to bring down inflammation quickly. You can add a dollop of honey to counterbalance the drying aspect. It’s also supposed to bring blood to the surface of your skin. Some people suggested this method as a spot treatment for piercing scars.
Heated Eyelash Curlers
Heat eyelash curlers up with a blow dryer or under hot water before you curl your eyelashes… The curler becomes 90x more effective!
Note: be careful not to heat them up too much, though!
Also, always make sure to curl your eyelashes from multiple angles since that way it looks more natural
Get Rid of Dark Circles And Bags
An ice cube wrapped in soft cloth on your eyes does wonders to get rid of dark circles and bags- also works great as a headache soother. Leave on for 10-15 minutes before you go to bed!
Lipgloss
Use aquaphor as lipgloss – its the best lipgloss ever tried 🙂
